Parnassus is a hand-drawn font created by Jessie Riley and inspired by the German Expressionists. Born out of the need for a unique and emphatic typeface to match the content of Taylor University’s literary journal, its rough-around-the-edges feel and semi-calligraphic aesthetic make it an expressive headliner. It goes well with strong tertiary colors, postmodern theory, edgy literary journals, and intensity. The tall, thin letterforms each painstakingly hand-drawn with a chisel pen before being scanned and traced bespeak careful, accurate haste and an intensity of feeling that adds volumes to any layout.
