Serieux is a geometric sans designed by Chris Chew. Its curves are based on circles of varying diameter. The combination of these circular forms, lack of optical correction, and variation in character width leads to odd proportions both within and between characters. Such strict, “dumb geometry” gives the letterforms their awkward, yet clean & playful appearance.
Serieux comes in four weights. Ornaments include various hot dogs and a doughnut (one per weight). Opentype features for five standard ligatures (ff, fi, ffi, fl, & ffl).
